Audio-visual records of different languages

Studying the linguistic diversity of our country is part of the mission of the Linguistics Sector of the National Museum, enabling us to understand our culture in greater detail, based on an element that is present in everyone’s daily life, that is, the language spoken by each community.
In order to present this interesting theme in the new exhibition at the National Museum, it is necessary to have sound documents that record the different Brazilian Indigenous languages, the variations of Portuguese spoken by Brazilians from different locations in the country, together with languages from different regions of the planet.

Sound recordings of Brazilian indigenous languages

As an example of a desired item within the category, we chose the sound recordings of Brazilian Indigenous languages.
In physical or digital formats, historical or contemporary, these elements are desired so that we can integrate the linguistics collection of the museum and thus provide rich material that can be heard by the public.
